A double-glazed unit is two pieces of glass sealed with a spacer bar. The spacer bar is the strip you see in between the two pieces of glass.
Before the unit is sealed, it is filled with argon.
The double stacking of glass, and the argon gas in between, creates insulation which slows the rate of hot or cold coming in, or flowing out, of the home,
keeping the home at a comfortable temperature for longer. This means you use less powered heating and cooling. This is good for your hip pocket, and

LightBridge glass achieves a U values of U1.4 for high efficiency and SHGC values range from 0.4 - 0.6 for a clear to satin look. The glass units are to be combined with a suitable frame, the end total result of the window systems U value will be greater and the SHGC will change also.
