A collaboration with designer and owner. Set on a generous block close to the ocean facing Basia Straight. This oceanside residence simple long rectangular shape, makes it an efficient design, positioning the living, kitchen and master bed along the north façade to maximize northly sunlight.
Other bedrooms, located on the south side, as they do not require sunlight for they are not habited for most of the day. Bath and laundry also on the south side. The media or theatre room located on the southside to be used as a theatre preferring a more shaded location.
Garage positioned cleverly on the south west side to shield the home from the harsh evening sunlight.
The alfresco is located on the north westerly side with vertical louvres to allow the daytime sun but not the evening.
A simple long hallway runs along from the front to the back of the home, with openable doors on either side for cross flow ventilation.
Other notable features is a floor to ceiling large 2.7 high by 9.7 sliding glazed window to the living/kitchen zone with a 1 meter eave to cover the northern façade providing shade from the summer sun.
