8 Star home in Adelaide, Bordertown
Design by #adelaidesustainabledesign. Made with locally sourced limestone and plantation grown timber framing material. 8 Stars achieved using standard double glazing and no slab insulation! A combination of sustainable building design and the right energy assessor produces an efficient outcome!
Floorplan is a H shape with North above. The bedrooms are on the vertical outer sides, on the east & west side. outdoor area on the south. The living, dining and kitchen are located in the center of the H shape, horizontally distributed to maximize the Northern sun. Garage is on the west side, where the sun is the harshest as it sets, helping to shade the rest of the home.
